Christian Dior, the man, was born in Normandy, France. The first money he made from fashion was selling his design sketches outside of his house for 10 cents. He worked for Robert Piguet and then Lucien Lelon during World War II where he designed clothing for wives of soldiers in the war. The House of Christian Dior began in December of 1946 in Paris. After initial criticism for using so much fabric following the war shortage, Dior became one of the most famous French designers in history. His first line was called
The Circlet of Flowers in English and of this line he was quoted "I have designed flower women." The fashion house continued to be successful even after the death of Dior in 1957. Classically inspired and handcrafted,
Christian Dior bags and accessories are fashion investments that will last a lifetime.
